Top 5 Reasons People Avoid Window Estimates
/Ugh. The dread. You flip the calendar to August and realize that fall is knocking on your doorstep. This can only mean one thing. WINTER.
Crap. Seems like you have put off getting your windows replaced for long enough. You meant to call earlier, we know you did. We also know that aside from all the reasons that are just part of life that the real reason is this.
INVITING A SALES GUY INTO YOUR HOME TO SELL YOU SOMETHING SOUNDS TERRIBLE.
I get it. But guess what? It is actually his job. So take a deep breath, give him some time and let your guard down. We can also break it down. What is the worst that can happen?
He won’t show. How lovely. Pour yourself a drink, relax and grab a pencil. You can cross that guy right off your list.
He will be late. It could happen, but the killer here is in the details. Is he going to randomly show up an hour later than expected or are you going to get a phone call so you know what to expect? There are many completely reasonable and acceptable ways for a salesman to be late. The important things is that you get a call beforehand and when he shows up he is ready to work.
He won’t listen to you? WHAT? next.
He will try and sell you something you don’t need. Tricky. Either his expertise will notice something you haven’t or he will randomly try selling you something you really really don’t want/need. The key, like with everything, is how it is approached. How is it described? How did it come up? What questions did he ask you about it?
He will be a scam artist. It happens, you know it does, so protect yourself. Don’t sign anything you don’t agree with. Ask about insurance and licenses. Be smart. You could also check out our 9 Questions To Ask Before You Hire A Contractor.
