You’ve heard it before. Perhaps you’ve even thought it yourself. How do you possibly know what makes one window better than another when they look exactly the same? Well… to find the answers you really have 3 options.
1) You can visit a local home improvement show and talk to representatives from the various companies to gather information. The people who staff the booths will have varying amounts of information to share with you based on their knowledge, but you do have the opportunity to touch and feel the windows. Do they open and close easily? Do they feel cheap or do they feel solid?
2) You can exhaust yourself by researching on the internet. While there is a lot of great information published on the internet (like this Blog, for example) there is also a great possibility you can get way too deep in the weeds and either get completely overwhelmed or start obsessing about the horrors of surface 4 Low-E coating.
3) You can call Steve the Window Guy and have a Representative come into your home and show you the differences between low end and high end windows.
