Friday Things 12-21-18
/Do you know how it feels when you’re on a speeding roller coaster ride and then it slowly creeps to a halt as it approaches the station? That is exactly how this week before the Holidays has felt. But don’t worry. We kept busy. Here are a few highlights:
Steve completed his continuing education course which is necessary to maintain his General Contractor License through the State.
The last siding job of the year is complete and this amazing weather let us squeeze in a roof replacement as well! A new roof for the holidays… is that on your wish list as well?
We finalized our home show schedule for the first part of 2019. There are a few weekends free, but starting January 4 we will be at a home show near you every weekend until April….
Our mailbox is full… of returned holiday cards. We cannot believe how many people have moved! The imaginary soundtrack for our holiday card project has definitely changed from “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” to “Return to Sender” HAHAHAHA
We have a few good leads for guys who can work the shows with us… fingers crossed!
Culvers of Bloomington hosts an ornament night each year. It’s a total no brainer. We eat dinner, submerge ourselves in the glitter room, come out with a beautiful ornament AND a free cup of custard. If you look closely, Steve still has several pieces of glitter on his face… because glitter does not wash off easily.
Last weekend we finished our cookie baking and decorating. I like the little UWD Gingerbread Man. =)
At this point our major year end tasks are underway and prep for January Home Shows has begun. Our family has done everything we feel like doing to prep for the holiday and the first grade holiday party is completed. Of course the magical bow skirt made another appearance.
We are ready for a weekend spent together in anticipation of the excitement of Christmas. We are hosting Christmas Eve and Christmas Morning, so 3 or 4 more Christmas Movies and some extra peppermint hot chocolate might be the perfect way to relax.
